Foto; Kodam IX/Udayana Trains TNI AD’s Quick Reaction Force for Disaster Management (PRCPB)
DENPASAR – LOKADEWATANEWS.COM – Anticipating the development of conditions and climate change, which is always changing, making it possible for similar natural disasters to occur in its area, Kodam IX/Udayana, as one of the TNI Military Operations Municipalities, is expected to have preparedness in handling and dealing with natural disasters quickly, precisely, and in an integrated manner by involving all elements, both TNI, Polri, local government, mass organizations, and community members in the region.
This was conveyed by Pangdam IX/Udayana, Major General TNI Harfendi, S.I.P., M.Sc., in his address when leading the Opening Ceremony for Natural Disaster Management Field Training and the Hosting of PRC PB Korem 163/WSA TA Task Force Troops 2023, at Makorem Field 163/WSA, Jalan PB. Sudirman, Denpasar, on Monday, October 23, 2023.
On this occasion, the Military Commander welcomed all training participants while hoping that the training, which was planned to last for five days, could run in an orderly, safe, and smooth manner so that the expected goals and objectives could be achieved well.
“In order to overcome the various limitations and challenges of regional disaster management tasks, the TNI AD needs to create synergy with all national potential and available resources. Therefore, Kodam IX/Udayana needs to carry out Korem-level training so that they have the ability, skills, and speed of movement “to assist the regional government in carrying out management of the consequences of natural disasters successfully and effectively,” explained the military commander.
The Military Commander further said that the Korem 163/Wira Satya Field Training was a command post simulation in the context of mobilizing Korem forces to carry out TNI assistance duties to the Bali Provincial Government. The complexity of carrying out this assistance task requires planning capabilities by Danrem and Korem staff in order to carry out the main tasks. This is in line with the theme of the exercise, namely “Korem 163/Wira Satya carries out Earthquake and Tsunami Natural Disaster Management Assistance Operations in the Bali Region in order to assist the Regional Government of Bali Province”.
“To the training participants, I order them to understand and appreciate their respective functions and duties as well as possible, so that if at any time a natural disaster occurs, they can take quick, precise, and integrated action between the security forces, in this case the TNI, Polri, “Regional Government, and other related agencies to create a sense of security and comfort,” said the Regional Commander.
For your information, the activities that will be carried out over the next five days are led directly by Danrem 163/WSA Brigjen TNI Muchlis Latif, SIP, M.M., as PRCPB Dansatgas, in charge of several staff and task force units that are affiliated with BPBD, SAR, and BMKG Bali Province, as well as other related agencies. Training will be held in various places in the Nusa Dua and Tanjung Benoa areas, with the main command post being at Puja Mandala.
