JAKARTA – LOKADEWATANEWS.COM – President Joko Widodo officially inaugurated Abdullah Azwar Anas as Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform (MenPAN-RB) for the remaining term of office for the 2019-2024 period. The inauguration ceremony took place at the State Palace, Jakarta, on Wednesday, September 7, 2022.
Abdullah Azwar Anas was inaugurated based on the Decree of the President of the Republic of Indonesia Number 91/P of 2022 concerning the Appointment of the Minister for Empowerment of State Apparatus and Bureaucratic Reform of the Advanced Indonesian Cabinet for the Period of 2019-2024. On that occasion, the President took the oath of office of the ministers who were inaugurated.
“I swear that I will be loyal to the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia and will carry out all laws and regulations as straight as possible for the sake of my service to the nation and state. That in carrying out my duties, I will uphold office ethics, work with the best, with a full sense of responsibility,” said the President dictating the oath of office.
Furthermore, Abdullah Azwar Anas will carry out his duties as MenPAN-RB whose position was vacant after the late Tjahjo Kumolo who died last Friday (1/7/2022).
To note, Abdullah Azwar Anas previously served as Head of the Government Goods/Services Procurement Policy Institute (LKPP) since January 2022. Prior to serving at LKPP, Abdullah Azwar Anas served as Banyuwangi Regent for two terms (2010-2021).
The inauguration ceremony ended with the congratulation of President Joko Widodo, which was then followed by a limited number of invited guests who were present. Also attending the inauguration ceremony were the 5th President of the Republic of Indonesia Megawati Soekarnoputri, Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud Md., Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian, Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, KPU Chair Hasyim Asy’ari , and Head of Bawaslu Rahmat Bagja.
